Not So Massively: Diablo III launches patch 1.0.7, Path of Exile gets new content

Path of Exilereleased several patches this week, adding new map types and fixing a number of bugs. Developers also revealed that the schedule for upcoming open beta content additions will begin with the next patch. Diablo III released patch 1.0.7 this week, adding a new dueling mechanic to the game and a brand-new endgame farming task based around collecting Demonic Essence to craft powerful account-bound gear. The patch also included some much-needed buffs for popular Wizard and Monk abilities.

SMITE revealed its new ranged crowd-control god Neith this week; she manipulates invisible magical weaves to empower her attacks. And Dota 2 released classic hero Tusk, who can roll himself and his team into a giant snowball of death. League of Legends announced a series of buffs for Nasis, Akalu, and Riven in a new Patch Preview video, in addition to changes to items with the cool down reduction stat.

Heroes of Newerth's patch 3.0.2 fixed an exploit with the Insanitarius item, while competitive team Trademark Sports secured its fourth win in the Diamond division of the HoN Tour league. Finally, Star Citizen continued to break gaming crowd funding records this week as its total funds raised passed the $8,000,000 US mark.

Path of Exile has now been in open beta for a few weeks, and developers are rapidly hammering out new content and game play updates based on all the feedback on the official forum. This week's updates include 11 new types of procedurally generated endgame maps, new skill gem artwork, an audio engine overhaul, and a ton of bug fixes.

Players using summoner builds will be glad to know that summoned creatures will no longer display health bars on mouse over as if they're enemies. Grinding Gear Games has also promised that the next major patch will kick off the start of a regular open beta update schedule intended to regularly introduce new skills, unique items, and other core content whenever they're ready for deployment.

Diablo III's patch 1.0.7 went live this week, introducing the new Brawling dueling mechanic and new craft able endgame gear. Archon gear comes in dexterity, intelligence, strength, and vitality varieties and is crafted with a new Demonic Essence reagent dropped by elite monsters in Inferno difficulty. Both the reagent and the gear are account-bound, so you can share them with other characters on the same account but may not trade them with anyone else.

The patch also introduced new account-bound Marquise gems and some big balance changes for Wizards and Monks. Wizards using Blizzard-based kiting builds with Arcane Orb and Shock Pulse for their main damage-dealing spells will find that their damage has been increased significantly. The Unstable Anomaly passive will now activate when you receive fatal damage, preventing your death, and the Temporal Flux passive now slows by 60% instead of 30%. These changes should make arcane knock back and kiting builds more viable and combines well with the changes to Blizzard.

Monks have had the damage of their Cyclone Strike, Dashing Strike, Tempest Rush, Wave of Light, and Lashing Tail Kick abilitites significantly increased, in some cases multiplied by a factor of two to three. Exploding Palm's explosion will also now deal 50% of the target's maximum health rather than 30%, and Inner Sanctuary and Mystic Ally have been buffed.


Hi-Rez studios revealed the next God to enter the SMITE open beta this week with a video spotlight on Neith, Weaver of Fate. True to her eponym, Neith is a crowd-control specialist who can manipulate the field of battle with powerful abilities based around magical weaves. When an enemy god dies while Neith is in the game, her passive ability causes a weave to be left on the ground that only Neith can see. The weave grants Neith mini map sight at the location and empowers her other abilities when used near it. sell diablo III gold




League of Legends' upcoming Patch 3.02 is set to fix some big problems with several champions and items. In a new Patch Preview video, Riot Games discussed some of the big champion ability changes and bug fixes on the way for Nasus, Akali, and Riven. Nasus' Siphoning Strike ability was dealing more damage than intended on critical strikes, but once that was fixed, the whole character needed a balance shakedown to bring him back up to par.

Akali players will be glad to know that the minimum stat requirement of her passive is being removed as it was severely limiting the viable rune and mastery choices. Riven's Runic Blade passive ability will also now scale based on total attack damage to help her out in the mid-game and let the passive scale well to endgame. The amount of the cool down reduction stat on items has been rebalanced across the board, lowering the inherent cool down reduction on popular items and adding it to specific items. Builds that rely on the stat will now have to actively pursue it by building those specific items.




This week's Dota 2 beta update introduced classic hero Tusk based on original DotA strength character Tuskarr. Tusk is a tanky initiator best known for his Snowball ability that lets him roll himself and his entire team up into a slowly growing snowball that rolls toward a target enemy unit. The snowball moves at 150% of Tusk's own movement speed and can roll over cliffs and trees. Tusk's ultimate ability is Walrus Punch, which makes his next attack automatically a hit as a critical strike and knocks the target enemy up into the air, applying a slow. This attack cannot miss, and the ability has a very short cool down.


Heroes of Newerth's patch 3.0.2 went live this week, re-adding stat tracking for casual mode games and improving the queue system. The patch also fixed an exploit with the Insanitarius item that let players use it repeatedly, and it fixed bugs with a number of heroes' abilities.  acheter des kamas

The team has won in four of the five previous tournament cycles, with only a loss in the third cycle breaking its perfect winning streak. Multi player sci-fi sandbox game Star Citizen recently completed the most successful video game crowd funding campaign to date, claiming to have raised $6,238,563 via Kicks tarter and direct sales on its own website. This smashed the original target of $2,00,000 by a huge margin, and the funding hasn't stopped coming in now that the crowd funding campaign is over. Developers recently announced that the total raised has passed the eight million dollar mark; the Star Citizen website reports a current total of $8,165,541.

Diablo 3 Director Moves To Mysterious New Blizzard Project

Blizzard Entertainment's Jay Wilson is one of the chief figures responsible for shepherding Diablo 3 into being, and after seven years of working on the game he's now ready to call it quits. Wilson won't be leaving Blizzard, but he's now moving on to work on "something new," as he writes in a Battle.net forum post (via GI.biz).

Wilson offers zero hints as to what his attention is turning to now, though he does promise that fans can expect the same level of commitment as a new director steps in in Diablo 3. "We have lots of things planned for the future, and those plans will carry forward as normal. I also won't be abandoning the team, and will remain available to them during the transition period while we determine who will take over duties as game director," he writes.sell diablo III gold

As a new player to Dofus, Incarnam is your game tutorial. You will learn hows, whys and where along with strategy, professions, making in game friends and many more items of interest and importance to your gaming experience.（1）

Having never played an MMORPG before, I was completely lost and very happy to have Boone tell me how to play. Boone is your little kitty that offers you tips as you play. These tips will explain your play windows, how to chat, where your inventory is located and how to use your map. Boone has many tips that you will find very helpful, however you can turn the tips off in your options menu.

Quests
Not only do you have Boone to help you get through your first few hours... in some cases days, but there are more than 20 Incarnam quests; all of which act as game guides. To start these quests, speak to any of the non-player characters (NPC) with green exclamation marks over their head. Read what they have to say, choose to accept the quest, and follow the directions.

If you are lost and not sure where to go or can't remember what the instructions were, click on the book in the bottom right of your screen. This book is your quest book and keeps track of all current and completed quests. Once you have selected your quest screen you will see a list of active quests, click on the quest to open a second screen. This new screen will give you the details of the quest, shaded details indicate completed steps while bold details still need to be completed. acheter des kamas

Now the instructions may have directed you to go and talk to someone. You may ask , 'how the heck do I find them?' Once you quest indicates that you need to find someone, a flag will automatically appear on your map directing you where to go. However, if you start another quest your flag will disappear.

There are two ways to find the person you need to speak with. The first way is to walk all over Incarnam looking. This is not the fastest way but it is a great way to explore and get to know the area. You might even stumble upon more quests. The fastest way is to look at your quest screen and click on the compass beside the name of who you are looking for. A flag will then mark on your map the location of the person, making it nice and easy to find them.

The quests you will encounter in Incarnam are set up to teach you components of the game, whether it is to understand your basic combat spells, thresh the wheat, start a profession, get down to work, whatever. These quests will walk you through the basic steps which are the building blocks to understanding future game play. Now quests will not only teach you game information, but they also have rewards such as experience points (XP), Kama and your first equipment set.

There are 27 quests for Incarnam. With these quests you can potentially gain 2600 XP just on the quests. Since many of the, require you to fight more than one monster you are gaining the fight XP as well as the quest XP. The potential Kama from finishing the quests is about 1250. Remember though that fighting monsters will also give you Kama and once you learn your first profession you will also increase your Kama flow. Travel
So you have started a few quests but are getting annoyed at all the running around, how can you do it faster? Well there are the 3069s for transportation. To use a 3069, you need to have a few saved. As you wander Incarnam you will come across four 3069s. You have two options at each 3069, save or use. Saving will save that 3069 as your location for re-spawning when you die or you can use a recall potion to return to. Use, will allow you to travel to another 3069 on your list or to add an unknown 3069 to your list. Once a 3069 is on your list you can travel around maps much much faster for a nominal fee.

When you look at your map, on the East side there is a hot air balloon. This form of transportation will transport you to Astrub. You can pop into Incarnam to do some shopping or to sell your harvests or to start your first weapon quest.

However once your errands are done, how does your character get back to Incarnam...after all, the big city is still a little scary. All you need to do is find any class statue and click on it and you will find yourself located back in Incarnam. If you have saved at a 3069 you will return to it, if you haven't you will return to your class start area.（3）

Restrictions
It is very important to note: To return to Incarnam from Astrub you must be Level 15 or lower. If you are a higher level and want to stay in Incarnam longer be sure to save at an Incarnam 3069 and not use the balloon transport. If you die in Incarnam and have not saved at an Incarnam 3069 for re-spawn, you will re-spawn in Astrub at your class statue and will be unable to return to Incarnam.
There are a few other restrictions in Incarnam. You cannot aggress other players. You can challenge them to a dual but you can't push and shove forcing them to fight you. One way players get around this is to jump into your player versus monster (PVM) fight then attack you instead of the monster. Now this is highly annoying to the person getting attacked and the end result is the same for both parties. The fight ends you both get XP and drops, just one of you feels big and powerful and the other is rather annoyed. If you want to player versus player then move on the Astrub there will be plenty of players to fight.

Another restriction is that a guild cannot place a Perc (Perceptor) to collect materials or XP. Not a big deal for guilds there are plenty of places in the world of twelve to place percs that will garner great amounts of material.

Love that they have removed the restriction of setting up in merchant mode. What better way for characters to get to know the shopping system, purchase better gear and stay in Incarnam longer. The world of twelve can seem very big and scary then you are starting out.
But remember eventually you will need to move on. The XP won't be enough to level you very fast and you will want to seek bigger better challenges. Never mind that your career choice will need more resources and buyers then you can supply in Incarnam.

Expect Blizzard to launch a game for Linux this year

     If there’s one thing that 2013 will be remembered for it’s as the year gaming on Linux got serious. This is already pretty much assured due to the launch of Steam for Linux and the dozens, if not hundreds of games that will bring with it to the Linux OS. On top of that you've got the launch of Ouya, which puts Android, and therefore Linux, in a console for just $99.

    If that wasn't exciting enough for January, then there’s another bit of news making the rounds this week: Blizzard is set to release a game for Linux before the year is over.

    Michael Larabel, the man behind the Phoronix website and who first broke the news about Steam for Linux, has had it confirmed by a source at Blizzard that such a game is in the works. It looks likely to be a port of an existing game from one Blizzard’s very popular series, we just don’t know which one yet. Initially it will be targeting Ubuntu users.

    Blizzard hasn't released games on Linux in the past as the company failed to see a market big enough to warrant the cost of supporting it. It also helped that the Windows version of games like Diablo III run fine on Linux using Wine, even if Blizzard did ban such players last year.

    It also turns out Blizzard already runs a lot of code on Linux, such as the server code used in a growing number of its games that require a connection to the Internet. A Linux client for the MMO World of Warcraft has also been actively developed and maintained as far back as 2011.

    The top contenders for a Linux port have to be Diablo III, Star Craft II, or World of Warcraft. With WoW already having a Linux client working alongside two years of maintenance updates, it seems likely that will be the game Blizzard choose.     If I had to make an educated guess, I’d say Blizzard is embracing Linux so as to ensure it can target more gamers in a fragmenting market. The market for Linux gamers is going to explode this year due to Steam for Linux, Windows 8 isn't exactly doing great, and until now Windows has always been where Blizzard made its money so it must be a little concerned for the future. You then have to consider the emerging platforms such as Ouya, which already has over 63,000 backers waiting for their console to ship.

And who wouldn't want World of Warcraft, Diablo, and Star Craft games running on a TV using a $99 console? That’s potentially millions of living room gamers Blizzard could cater to with both game purchases and monthly subscription charges.

    Every Saturday and Sunday in December has been a Winter Weekend for members, each with their own themed bonus!
